grey eyes

My new guinea carpet had grey eyes and looked like he was about to shed and was aggressive and such so i thought he was about to shed and i left him alone. but i had an extra rat so i fed it to him and now his eyes are fine and not grey at all and hes not aggressive. why were his eyes grey can anyone tell me.

Also like i said he did eat a rat so im happy he got out of the mouse phase. so thats an update to my last post.

Temp is about 85, humidity is 50-60, 40 gal long enclosure.

thanks

Yeah he's about to shed. The clearing of the eyes comes right before the old skin comes off. He was aggressive because he couldn't see you and thought you were going to eat him. Since his eyes cleared he's cool with you handling him again. Usally anywhere from 3 to 7 days before the shed will come off.

A lot of snakes go grey then clear up for a couple days, then shed. Does he have access to a large water bowl for soaking?

he also used to lie in his water bowl constantly but about a week ago he decided he didn't like to soak anymore, so i dont know whats up. i thought because he was always in his water bowl he had mites but i looked in the water and i saw no mites. so thats another problem.

plus my biggest ball python hasn't eaten in about a month so im a little worried about that because compared to my other BP he's anorexic. the people i got him from said he ate perfect.

Last problem my big snake ate his first mouse for me about 3 weeks ago and still hasn't gone if you know what mean.

Thanks for all the advise, i know its alot.

He could have been getting ready for his shed.
I forgot there is a vet listing on this site. Just go into the caresheet area at the top of the site and go to the misc. listings.
