I just want to make a quick post about my trip to Chicago this weekend. Cathy and I went to Chi town to visit Ed_r and family and attend Reptilefest. Ed and his family graciously hosted us Friday and Saturday night, and Ed was kind enough to take us on a tour of the city. We went to the Sears Tower, and basically drove by most other sites (Museums, Buckingham Fountain, Aquarium, Navy Pier, Michigan Ave, etc.) so we could at least take a look. There is so much to see in Chicago, and unfortunatly, we didn't see a smidgen of athat we wanted too.
Reptilefest, however, was one of the best experieneces of my life. I have never been to a purly educational show, and it was so refreshing to go somewhere that people were actually hungry for knowledge. Children were so willing to touch the snakes, ask questions, and actually interact. It was a class A event. The Chicago Hepetolgoical Society should be commended for putting this whole thing together. I was so impressed, that I joined the CHS just to be part of this great organization.
Thanks again to Ed and his family for hosting us this weekend. They were very gracious and Cathy and I could not have had a better time. I hope that next year, I can continue to help with Reptilefest by putting up an educational booth of my own.
I will post some pictures tommorow. I am just too tired tonight..
