Brazilian Rainbows
Anyone want to shoot me with what's a decent price for 1.1 adult brazilian rainbows... male 4lbs female 5+lbs? I'm looking at a pair and I can't decide if it's a good price or not. The guy wants $600 and I'm thinking that's kind of steep. Also... you guys think those are ready to breed? They sound big enough to me, but you guys are the experts.

I'm no expert on pricing BRB's, but have looked at em quite a bit and from what I've seen thats Very steep. I know adults cost more, but that just seems out of range. They better be some GOOD LOOKING brb's!

I sent him an offer for $500 shipped. He's probably not going to take it, but there's no way I'm going to jump at $600 + shipping!

If they are real screamers and adult sized ready to breed thats not incredibly bad. Little on the high side. Your offer of 500+ shipping is reasonable.
BRBs are dropping a bit in price now. babies are going for the 120-150 range

It takes a long time to get BRBs to breeding size. I've been working with my pair that were little strings when I got them for so long and have gotten so attached that it would take many thousands of dollars to pry them away from me and they still have quite a ways to go before being breedable...so I suppose it's something to do with perspective and sentiment. When someone has animals for sale, they don't always really really want to sell them just to be moving them out so market price isn't always considered. Fortunatly there are options available. If these snakes have exceptional color and/or bullseyes...might not be such a bad price really considering that you can breed them and get a return easy enough from selling the babies...but of course if you can find equal quality for less than you can get an even better return ...or at least some cost recoup...Trust me, you won't get rich off this hobby no matter what you are breeding lol but it's good to have something that can now and then help pay for the rats and electricity.
