This is one of those weekends that will just slap you around a bit.
Thursday to Friday:
The wife and I left for Florida to take Indy back to Dr.Oviparous.
Saturday:
We get home to find out my baby Red Tail died

That afternoon I get a call from a guy I had been talking to about his Red Tail, he was needing to get rid of it fast so I went over there and looked at her.
Its official, my first Rescue, she is about 6yrs old and when I ran this image I got 7’ 9” I don’t know how much she weighs but it’s a lot. Her girth is 12”
She is a big girl

When I picked her up I was told her name is “Red” don’t really care much for that name, so I need to think of another one. Suggestions?
My brother and my wife trying to keep her in the picture, got lucky with this shot.
She has had a really rough life. Her nose is scared really badly from a rat bite; one of her nostrils is all but blocked and caved in due to scaring. I will get some pictures later this week; I am letting her settle in right now.
There is also scaring on the tip of her tail, again, rat bites. There are lines on her sides where her scales are folded and sticking out. She was in a cage that was just too small so she couldn’t stretch out and stayed coiled and kinked up all the time.
I talked with the guy for a little while about feeding and such. I had to do everything I could to keep from beating that guy down.
This is part of what he said…
Me: When was she fed?
Him: She was fed on Thursday, gave her one jumbo rat.
Me: Was it live or frozen.
Him: Live. She needs to kill it, she won’t take anything else.
Me: Have you tried frozen?
Him: Nope
Me: What has her feeding response be like?
Him: She grabs it fast, why Thursday when I fed her, I opened the cage and dropped the rat right on top of her, it never touched the floor, she grabbed it right away.
Me: Ok, thanks!
I had to leave after that, feeding in a cramp cage, live jumbo rats and putting them right on top of her. What was he thinking??
Sunday:
I got drafted into helping my mother clean everything for a thing she has next weekend. While power washing the steps a little puppy and her mother comes walking up. The mother was really shy but the puppy was sweet as ever.
Mom went inside and got some food, while the puppy was eating, the mother slowly walked away a little bit, then a bit more. Before too long she was standing at the edge of a hill took one look back and then was gone. It was the sweetest thing. So now, guess what? We have a fuzzy!!
The wife took the puppy in and now its ours. I don’t have any images yet b/c my camera went dead and I am fresh out of batteries.
However it appears to be a Rot Mix about 3 months old. Her name is Zoe
Well, that’s my weekend.
