Just a FYI,
I am sure some of you guys noticed the site being down for roughly a hour. Hehe notice how it was during lunchtime?
Anyway here is what happened. I opened up a very huge file (more that 1 gig) by accident. I was on my way out of the door and thought I killed the process on the server. Apparently I didn't!
Well when I got back I got emails from multiple people about the site being down. Basically the Webserver was still up and working fine, but the DB decided to die after the server ran out of memory. Opening that file up caused all my memory resource to exhaust. The webserver was fine because it was all cached in memory. Static websites all worked, but the dynamic sites

http://the-egg.com all were down or really slow.
And no Julius, or no one else hacked us. I am pretty confident about the security measures on this machine. Julius lasted I checked knows nothing about Linux. And also he is not a well know script kiddie.
