Invasion of Australia.......
Seems as if a few of our herps, the red-eared slider, corn snake and diamond-backed terrapin are invading Australia.
Queensland - Department of Natural Resources and Mines: http://www.nrm.qld.gov.au/pests/warning_brochures/
The diamond-backed terrapin brochure hasn't posted yet.
"Man, those red-eared sliders are like the Borg - resistance is futile."

LOL! I would ask how it feels to be published, but you would have to think back for a while to remember what that felt like.

Actually, I found it interesting that Australia was having a problem with some of our native herps and didn't know about this problem until they asked to use my pics.

Well, it not so much about being published anymore, I do get a kick out of what people want to publish and where.

These brouchures are often produced as a precationary measure
and may not have appeared in the wild as yet.
"Oh no!! corn snakes.....RUN"-Ace
You may laugh Ace but the humble Asian house gecko has in some cases completely displaced native geckoes in some areas and its feared cane toads are going to be the extinction of a couple of mammal, monitor and frog species in some areas.
Aust. the best living example for the justification of no-import laws!!

Yeah, all we see here now are the Asian House Gecko. Tis sad when I hear someone say... 'oh great, the geckos are coming back' when I know it isn't ours and they have no idea....

It doesn’t take much to tip the balance of nature. Import and export laws to me don’t really do any good. It might stop a few people but really if someone really wants something it wont help if there are a thousand laws standing in the way.
In my home town we had an issue with a local lake. People would go to the pet store and get all kinds of fish. Keep them for a while then dump them in the lake when they grew tired of them.
Caused a major upset with the native fish, they passed a law saying that you can only put fish in the lake that was once there.
Point being, there is no way to stop people from dumping gold fish in the pond
