I know a guy on another snake forum and all he uses for his snakes is bottled water. I dont really think it would make much of a difference but who knows lolz.
I would just try different types of water such as what you listed and see what happens. Experimenting would be the only way someone could know for sure if it has a effect on their snakes. If you switch around be sure to let me know the results .

Sometimes the reason for cloudy water is because of the chlorine and you can get water dechlorifier at the store. You just put a few drops of the stuff in depending on how much water there is and then you are set to go. They have it for fish and they also have it for reptiles too. You could possibly buy a bottle of that and just use the water out of the tap and put that in it.

Yea, thats the whole purpose of it. To make it safe for them to drink and soak. Fish have the same stuff because they live in it. I'm not sure it would fix the whole problem with the scales but it would get the chlorine out of the water. Also, letting the water set in an open jar for a day before using it would allow the chlorine to evaporate out and that would be basically doing the same thing. The reason for the dechlorifier is to just get more instant results.

Well, I guess it removes a lot more than chlorine as I read the bottle, but I would think that would be even better.

No problem. I hope that it helps. Even if it doesn't get rid of the scale problem you will know that your snake is in and is drinking clean water! haha I'm paranoid so I can't just use tap water. Either I put that stuff in with it or I just use bottled.
