Unfortunately, they cannot be released due to several factors. First, we don't know where they came from. And second, because of so many snakes so confined, there is too great a risk of spreading pathogens to wild populations.
People have been donating various amounts. I will be paying between $20 - $30 each for them. Then taking them all to the vet (hopefully he will give me a good deal). Naturally, I will be covering all of our expenses to get down there and all of the money will go directly toward acquisition and medical care of the snakes.
After rehab, they will placed in permanent homes in Nature Centers and the like. The primary concern when placing them is having the ability to care for them properly and safely and having them in a capacity where they will be used to further educate the public on roundups and rattlesnakes in general.

No, they will not be able to be released back into the wild due to the means of collection and the highly likely biological hazards, bacteria etc they will have been exposed to during the collection and the time in captivity prior to the actual event.
As for donations, anything helps.
