Do you mean the rack-like drawers that are for clothing, bathroom supplies etc? I got a small one to see if it would work, thought I might only have to make some air holes and add heat. Less than a minute with my cornsnake Heat, the Escape artist, and he found a tiny crevase that led directly out of the drawer so it now holds washclothes and such. For safety I would personally go with a rack made just for snakes. I am ordering some from Natures Spirit or the boaphile plastic ones.

As long as you make sure that the drawers are 100% escapeproof I am sure you could easily turn it into a safe rack system. You would have to ad enough ventilation and heat to it. Make sure it is made of good material too, that can safely withstand being heated for the snakes.

As Gemisnake mentioned, the major problem with those is their escapability. I use Boaphile Plastics racks because they come with heat tape already installed, they work great, and they are completely escape proof.
Good luck!

Nicole...if your handy (or know someone who is and would be willing to help) you could make your own rack system with little to no difficulty. Here is a thread I posted of some racks that I built last year. This is a rather big system, but it could be scaled down considerably depending on what you want to do.
Building a rack system is easy, and if you would like some pointers I would be more than willing to help you out. I really enjoyed building the ones I did, and I'm getting ready to build another here in a month or so.
This is just one idea, and there are many out there...go to the caging forum and take a look around too...there are several designs posted there.

Hi Nicole
Here is a link that will show you how to build an easy rack cage system for boas.
This info is from Rio Bravo's website.
