Ok this just happened the day before yesterday.
I hardly ever use the babysitting at the gym because I usually go when I do not need it (children are in school or sleeping etc)...but my girls like going there so when there is no school (like Monday) they want to go.
I gave in Monday and went (even though I got nothing done because I ran into too many people and talked the whole time) and dropped them off at the playroom and was gone for like 90 minutes.
When I came back the sitter (a woman in her late 30's with children of her own) said:
"Olivia (my youngest girl who will be 4 next month) got a truck stuck in her hair...she cried but we got it out and she's fine now"
I looked at her and she was fine...smiling and playing with her sister. Her hair looked fine too. When I questioned them in the car they said a small girl who was in there (she's like 2) accidentily got the truck tires stuck in her hair (the hair wrapped around the tires) and Olivia tried to pull it out and hurt herself. The baby sitter got it out or her.
I went home.
A few hours later I put them in the bath...when they cam out I brushed their hair and when I was doing Olivia's haor a big chunk fell out ( I have photos and will post them when I get the disc out of my camera---that's where my last few photos went)...I mean BIG. There was a huge knot...and when i went to comb it out the whole piece came out very easily--like it had been ripped out before that.
Also it was ripped out by the root---th patch of skin was not red at the itime--indicating it was not a new injury (from the last few hours at home).
Look at the next post and see the photos before you comment on this one....
I was very upset. I took her to the doc the next morning and she said her hair would grow back but being it was taken out by the root and it was long, it would take a long time.
My question to you guys is....people are telling , me to sue...do you feel this is what I should do?
An equal amount of people are saying there is no case---but some feel it was negligence on the sitters part and being my daughter was hurt and the fact that she will need to wear her hair differently for a long time to avoid embarrassment are grounds for a lawsuit.
I will never leave them there again but feel terrible that this happened no matter what

The fact that she was fine when i picked her up means nothing because my children have been fine 10 minutes after stitches depending on how you comfort them---
Any thoughts?
