I made the paper
Of course some of you won't like why I made the paper. I shot a rare deer up in Maine as the hunting season kicks off. No reptiles here, just a rare doe. This was a 4-point doe that had antlers that was still in velvet. Color me surprise when I went to dress what I thought was a buck. When I took it in to get it cut up the butcher decided to call my local paper and have me holding the deer. The Maine biologist took a sample of the deer to see why this doe had antlers. Anyways, just thought I'd throw that in there to start a conversation for any hunters out there if there are any. Oh, it was 126lbs doe BTW in case you're wondering.

O.k., the lesson here is not to drink the water in Maine! BTW, Captain, I'd like mine as jerky...

That's actually more common than you think. Alot like a hen turkey with a beard. Why it happens I'm not sure. I have a report around here somewhere from a wildlife biologist about why it happens I'll try to find it. A couple years ago a friend of mine shot an albino buck. He made the paper, and donated it to BassPro Shops wall of Missouri Records. It's still pretty cool and shocking. Congrats nonetheless.

thanks all, I'll probably never see a deer like this again in my lifetime. Just something I'll never forget. No getting this deer mounted, I'll wait for the big buck next year for that. I'm curious to what the biologist will find out. Like what they're looking for and stuff. Mad? The bucks are way beyond mad! I mean, that was probably the only horny doe up there brett. But guess who bagged her?? Lol...
