New server for redtailboa.net? Need your help!
Ok guys,
Currently the machine that is hosting Redtailboa.net is having a hard time keeping up with the traffic.
Basically the server is on its knees everyday begging to be upgraded. I/O is through the roof, and the little guy just cannot handle the load. What I have in mind is buying a replacement over the next few months. First the hard part will be getting the money. I built out a upgrade path that would basically cost me around $1200. I have decided to go with the following:
Dual AMD Opteron 64bit CPU's
2 Gig's of memory (1 gig per processor 4x512MB)
2x120Gig Serial ATA drives in a mirror setup
New Case with redundent powersupply
No video card needed
No CDRom or disk drive needed
Last but not least Suse Linux Enterprise for 64bit Opteron
Now I am flat broke so if any of you can donate to the cause that would be great. The best form to do this is to buy our advertising or from Cafepress.com store. Every little bit counts!

What if I've got nothing to advertise?
Could I put up a banner that says "Have a nice day" or something like that?

Well I guess if you bought banner advertising, you could put any kind of banner you want up...unless it contains nudity or profanity

FYI: If anyone has hookups on hardware please let me know. I am willing to change my choices of hardware if the price is right

Hey Boss! I'll check my real source (work) but did you get your prices at www.newegg.com? They've got some screaming deals!
