Interacting with wildlife...
Here's the deal..
We moved a few weeks ago.. no biggie..
BUT...
Had a dirt dauber buzzing me a few days ago.. inside my living room....
Couldn't find the swatter.. so I used the mouse pad...
One down.. and I dunno how many to go..
Then we discovered mouse droppings in the kitchen..
No problem.. set a few traps out...
Super mice I say.. they ate the peanut butter and reset the traps..
Ok, my bad.. they werent sensetive enough..
Fixed that.. stare too hard and they'll snap your eyeballs...
Woke up this morning.. nothing.. not even a drop of peanut butter remained...
While I was preparing to embark on the journey to work yesterday.. a giant yellow hornet decided it was time to migrate to another area and flew into the car JUST as I had opened the door...
Rolled down the windows (power windows are so neat, huh?) in the hopes it would move out on its own...
Nah.. he was a squatter looking for a fight....
No problem.. 'I have bug spray!' entered the gray mass...
Looking back on it.. I can see where the hornet would have an issue with being hit repeatedly with a can of bug spray.. especially after sprayinmg him with it had no effect...
Finally.. hornet gone, body laid to rest on the sidewalk as a warning to other hornets...on the way to work...
Uneventful night...
Got home and found this guy/gal on my step, behaving much like a tiny green doorman...

Hehe, very entertaining story! I hate bees and wasps. Not really afraid of them, just annoyed. Ok, maybe a little afraid. We had one in the house the other day, and the first thing I found was my can of Black Knight. After several sprays and several minutes, it eventually landed in the window sill, writhing in what appeared to be agony. Can wasps feel pain? I dunno, this one sure looked liek it. It was trying to sting anything it could. Hmm, next time maybe a fly swatter will be quicker and less painful.

Try getting a cat to get rid of the mice! I have heard that mice can sense a cats presence in your home, and will move to a different location. If you are ot interested in a cat, try the sticky paper. You can put it in the areas where you found droppings. Mice love Reese's PB cups, this is a good lure!

Yeah if you had me and Spirit's cats you would have no mice what so ever. Those dang bengel cats love to hunt. #$%^$%^$%^$%^& a cricket will get loose out of the beardie cage and man those cats are hunting that cricket like its a huge meal haha.
I didn't really want any cats...but then Spirit showed me a pic of the Bengels and I fell in love. We have 4 cats now!

That's the really neat thing about being here.. no furry pets allowed.
If they are in tanks, set-ups etc, no problem at all!
Besides, there are many stray cats outside, so they just need to get busy hunting as a way of prevention...

You could try catching some rat snakes or other herps around the area and relocating them to your yard
