We, as the Reptile community, need to take charge. We need to organize. There are many of us. We need to show that. Look at what happened in NYC. What if one by one the cities of America are consumed by these fascist laws? What then?
We just seem so...weak right now. UNITE for the Snakes.
Do You realize if they suceed in banning Snakes everywhere, Snakes will not only be not kep, but will face EXTINCTION as they are endagered in the wild?
We Cannot let this occur. We must Organize. We must have each breeders spread the word. We must be united in ONE big organization so we can fight any such law.
We must contact the most powerful in the Herp Community to provide Financial support. We must overcome this great challenge that comes from the ignorant. But Most important we must not let it slip and slip...until it is too late. They already have NYC. Don't let them have the rest.
We Must start action. And We need action now.

Currently all larger boids (anything over a redtail boa) such as burms, rectics, andicondas, etc. are ILLEGAL to keep in the 5 boros. It is also illegal to keep any hot no matter what, unless you are the BRONX Zoo... they are trying to get rid of them all together for awhile, I put a post up awhile back so NYers could right our representatives. I have written numerous letters and the NY herp society is continually working on changing the laws. The first time they wrote the law they made a mistake and made ALL snakes illegal, but it has since been re-worded and corrected. This does not put us out of harms way... and it is good to see you have an intrest in protecting our rights. Just remember too keep a cool head... no threatining or abusive letters ever help our situation.
(edited to add) - all crocodillians and poison dart frogs

Why in the world are ball pythons prohibited??????? . oh nevermid it's because of their MASSIVE size, and horrable temperment right? or is it because they are sooooo venomous? NYC is right.
it was a fudge up in the writing of the law. they said all constrictors which includes colubrids too.......so that didnt go over too well. that included the lil royal python too
now, in the 5 boros you cant have the big-uns, but thats all i see in the summertime! people in NYC- the village area with huge burms n stuff selling polaroids with you and the snake for 10 bux each!!! that dude makes money!!!
you will always go through central park and see some one with a burm or boa sunning n stuff.
whatb happened was, a lil' while back- some kid got killed by his burm. story how i got it was he was bringing home chicken (from the poulty shops around here, which sells rabbits i just found out!!!!!!) , but anyways- he was carring it home and i guess fethers and smell got on him and he went strait to hih burm, which was hungry and BOOM! DEAD KID IN THE HALLWAY.
his fault for not watching out completely, but we all suffer for it. shame he died.
watch every thing you do people!
i have seen people handle rats and go pick up snakes with out washing their hands- their fault.
anyways, you guys are great. i totally agree! stand up for your rights!!! dont let the few ruin it for all of us!
just do it calm, and cool.
