The best advice I can give you is to buy a baby snake and let it grow with that person. If you have a super docile snake that would NEVER bite you could start by holding the snake and letting them sit near you and slowly they should become comfortable with that snake.
Also...what size are we talking about here?

Honestly, I'd say persistence and just slowly work her way up to it. If she's already comfortable with a smaller snake, just try to get her to start holding ones that she is a little uneasy about and with time she should not be as scared at least. I know with me, it was just exposure and persistence. 10 months ago, I was frightened to death of snakes. After 6 hours of bugging me, Ldydrgn, Storm, Morti, and my wife got me to hold a yearling boa. Well let's just say I held her for an hour and bought her from morti the next week Now I'm up to 5. As far as big snakes, I just got comfortable from being around them. I'd go over to Morti's and he'd get out a big 7-8 footer and i'd be scared as #$%^$%^$%^$%^&, next thing i knew it would be on my lap and well, you either get used to it or crap yourself. I decided to get used to it and enjoyed it :P

well..if it's any consolation to your wife, a hogg will never attain any size that will be anywhere near big enough to harm a human. Maybe hearing it from someone else w/o a vested interest will help ya out man. LOL

well if it makes a difference, hoggs will don't quite reach the size of a typical bci. As well as it is impossible for a boa to eat a human, except maybe a full grown boa versus a baby, but i'm sure someone will be around to correct me on that one when a snake eats a rat, or what not they're shoulders will actually collapse and fold in, which is why a snake can eat such big prey. Human shoulders do not collapse in the same way so that is why a snake cannot eat a human, so you're wife is safe btw...better post some pictures, hoggies are gorgeous.

Just a word of caution... don't be too depressed if the doesn't look as good in real life as she does in the pic. Hogs are known for changing their colors. Sometimes this seems to be heat realated, sometimes it is about where they are in their shed cycle, sometimes I think it's just mood. At his best, my Hog looks almost like an albino colombian. At his worst, he is much darker in color than most colombians. It is likely to change.

Awesome looking snake you are getting!
Our hogs do the same thing that Morti describes they will go from putty grey to a dark brownish color.
Where are you getting it?
