Lori, that is the name of the virus. It is a virus that will infect one computer ant not knowingly send it out to others with a different name. There is a chance that the 2 people you got it from didnt even send it in the first place. As we speak there are 2-3 bad viruses spreading around. The ebst way to prevent getting one is do NOT open an email that has anything larger than a 3-4 file size, or just dont open an emails at all. I have set up my hotmail account where I will NOT receive any emails from anybody thats not in my address book. Im not gonna risk getting the virus again.

This memory-resident variant of the WORM_KLEZ.A mass-mailing worm uses SMTP to propagate via email. The subject line of the email it arrives with is randomly selected from a list of possible choices. See Tech Details for more information.
Upon execution, this worm drops files and creates an entry in the AutoRun key of the system registry. It also infects EXE files. To infect, it encrypts (compresses) the target file and then modifies the file extension with a random name. It also modifies the attributes of the file and sets these to Read-only, Hidden, System, and Archive. Thereafter, this worm copies itself to the original filename of the infected file.
This worm makes sure that its filesize is the same as that of the infected file. To do this, it pads garbage at the end of the infected file.
This worm does not perform its Antivirus Retaliation routine on machines running NT 4.0 or lower, due to an unavailability of system functions or APIs it uses to kill the antivirus-related processes

Yes i have had problems with 2 of these viruses. The one like Boaguy and the one you have Lori. I was thankful to have had my virus protection running and it eliminated the virus and any trace of it out of my computer. I hope your computer is ok Lori.

Welcome to the club Lori. I've been getting that Virus sent to me a couple times a day for the last week. the easiest way to take care of it is to just delet emails that come from people you don't know and have attachments on them. or even if you know the person and they send you an email with an a attachment that you weren't expecting delet it.

I just got done fighting off those viruses....it was kinda fun.
It makes me want to take up computer science even more...(okay I am a nerd)
anyway...I was trying to fight it......it shut down my antivirus. I reopened my antivirus and it shut it down again. That is when I got an old clunker antivirus and it did not recognize it....
I updated the antivirus and I was able to fight. The virus replicated itself so many times it was ridiculous. But I was not running my calbe modem at the time....so no e-mails went out that I know of....

BUT There were many more addy's [ prolly fake] that it came from..I just stopped listing em is all. Plus the subject matter was always different also. None of the emails was coming from anyone I knew either.
My comp is fine

mine was from bootmaker877@yahoo.com
then I did further investigation of the e-mail....and it was actually somone I have corresponded to before.....it changed is name.
so the virus puts fake e-mails....but if you check the return path....you will probably see whose e-mail it really came from

Problem was with my email and that going on.. i couldn't get the whole addy for the email it came from. I can't see that unless i open the email and when i was able to get it opened , the way i did it to get the mesgs regarding the virus.. it looked as though it had come from my own email addy. i had to forward/move it to a draft file to get the info and doing that places my addy in it arghhh

That's why I rarely give out my personal email and only open stuff from people I know. Otherwise, it goes to my junk mail.
