Royal, In reality, both eddie and Julius were being a little sarcastic... the scary thing is, it is not too far from the truth.
The best thing you can do is to keep up with legislation in your area and fight it. We are in more danger from cities and states than we are from the federal government.
The best thing you can do is join your local herp society and work with them in the bounds of their charter to network and organize.
