Will they be hearing testimony on exotic speicies? If so, who will be testifying and what are their points?
To be honest, I'm not sure exactly how these meetings go. I would love to listen in though.

I don't know what to expect. Hopefully I can listen at work. But I am fairly certain that our old friends the HSUS, API, and PETA will be there to shove a knife squarely between our shoulders. And i am sure that trumped up statistics from the CDC and WHO will render their ugly face.

ya know...I don't know one...not ONE person that has contracted Salmonella. I'm not saying I know all that many people, but where do they get their numbers? I'm sure it's possible to contract it through a reptile, but it's possible to catch dysentery if you eat your own excrement too. I guess I should just say, with a little hygeine that can be avoided.
Those acrromyms you listed scare me Brian. I hope PIJAC shows up.

There are countless diseases one can get from every animal, environment, and even other people. The whole thing is absurd. I can understand implementing regulations for proper quarantine of imported animals, but regulating ownership on these grounds is silly. You can catch disease from your pet dog, does that mean they're going to be banned as well? I know a girl who caught ringworm from a cat - should cats be banned? I caught the flu from my co-worker. Since according to the CDC 30,000 people in the US die every year from the flu, I guess we should all have a knee-jerk reaction and ban any inter-human contact. We all must live in bubbles from now on.
