I just got appointed to moderate this forum. So I thought I would get the ball rolling.
If you were able to get a snake, any snake, no matter what the price is. What snake would you get?
I myself would have to get the albino argentine rainbow. t+: tyrosinase positive
this is a 3rd type of albino (pretty recent)
the other 2 are t- (kahl, and sharp)
these t+ animals have more coloration that the t- animals do. picture a hypo if you will with big red eyes!!!
hypomelanism is just a form of amelanism.
a good pic of a t+ argentine boa is at:
www.boabasement.com
hope that helps a bit.

I'd like a Mandarin Rat Snake or a Dumeril's Boa. So far all the Argentine Boa Constrictors I've seen have looked quite a bit like a Dumeril's. I prefer colubrids and smaller boids. At this point I'd take just about any Pitouphis, Lampropeltis, or Elaphe. I'd also like a Boa Constrictor (ssp not important) as soon as I can get the room for it. Funny how I'm on redtailboa.net without ever having owned any Boa Constrictor.

Lori has a couple of baby Sinaloans. She CLAIMS that they're snappy, but they didn't bite me!! Well!? What do you have to say about that, Lori!?! Huh!?! Hmm... I probably took too many aspirin. Maybe it's time to go to bed now. I think so. There are two snakes that come to mind... both are illegal to keep where I currently live. First off I would love a tiger rectic... I think they are stunning animals. I lack the space to keep one and they are illegal to keep in the 5 boro's of NYC. The second snake would be a yellow phase eyelash viper. They are a joy to look at, and I am very jealouse of naja's . Again they are illegal to keep in the 5 boro's of NYC, that goes for all hots. One of these day's...

Next on my mind is a puff-faced water snake, Homolopsis buccatta. As juveniles they are auburn and brown (sort of) and as adults, they are more blue-grey. Plus, they are quite hot, but not big and easy to feed on fish. But if I could, I'd love a green burm.

I would have to go with the Albino Homalapsis buccatta,
or a group of Enydris enydris.
But that could just be my bias for Homalapsine snakes showing through.
For a python, it would definately have to be a Morelia oenpeliensis.

good taste in snakes.
but in :
Berry, P.Y., and G.S. Lim. 1967. The breeding pattern of the puff-faced water snake, Homalopsis buccata Boulenger. Copeia 1967: 307-313.
I believe it states somewhere in that writing that no known side effects have been produced from this species in humans.
