My Cally King got loose the other week!!!
But, I found him 3 days latter in my bathroom
He was snuggled up to my toothpast and deoderent..
The reason that he excaped was that I have a screen lide
glass cage and ya know how they secure the screen to the
lids frame by puting a rubber gasket squeezed between the mettal and the mesh...
He managed to pull loose the rubber and squeez between the screen and get out.
so, I taped the seals with barrier tape and its good to go now...
annyways.
I have been working on his handling capabilities and lately, I dont even have to where a glove.
I guess that he is finally understanding that I dont opose a thret to him and that he has no reason to bite...
I am so happy for this.
I have been putting My old shirts in his cage so that he gets used to my smell and I never act jerking with him... so I guess that ... whell I dont know... I am just lucky...
To have a wild captured tame good eating no parasites cally King.
He is getting big.. He sheds like every 3 weeks.
I guess that since he was wild, that he was seriously under fed..
well....
he is a lucky guy now...2 of my breader rats are Pregnant.
I have been feedin him on a 4-6 day interval...
I'll take pics later.
and show you my tape job...

Glad to hear your king is tame! I just bought a CB King Snake last week, seems to like to bite me a ton. It doesn't hurt or anything, I just rather it have it not bite me!!

How is the smell of your wild caught king Barrin? The one i used to have STUNK like nothin else, i guess it "musked" a lot and thats what the smell was and he never calmed down too much, so if yours is gettin calm and doesnt stink then you're a lucky one! Mine was a pain.

At first it used to stick its pee pee out and poopandpee all over the place
but after I got it in its cage and gave it three weeks to get used to its new
way of life.. I slowly started hankling it... I would put my old shirt in its cage and
pick it up with gloves and handle it every once in a while..
It would poop and pee all over the place and smell terrible.
but after a while I would pick it up with a towel and just slip the towel out of my hands while I was holding him and after holding him for a while he just started to not even look at me when I touched him in the cage... shure he will try to slither away from me while I grab him. but I stay determined and not to show fear or a fast heart beat....
I thing that is one of the ways snakes think your afraid....
My Theory is this: the snakes prey has a fast heart beat (cause its small)
If you are nervous your heart beat speeds up and maybe the snake will pick up on that.
I just act calm and slow with no jerking motions. He is a wild animal and deserves that respect.
But like you said So Pure.... With the smell I think that I am getting lucky. because it is slowly going away and he is slowly not doing it amymore....
I am wining the Battle!!!

"I slowly started hankling it... " hmmm, what exactly does one have to do to a snake to consider it "hankling"? LOL, j/k but that typo got me laughin, been a while since one of my typos came out kinda bad like that, but now that i've laughed at one I'm sure to get messed over with one!

Actually Steve:
I think that he is in good size now and I am just going to put him on a once a week feed from now on. Since I found him he still hasn"t exepted food. So he is either depressed that I found him or I am offering him too large of prey.
Two of my rats is pregnant so I will just let him chill for now...
I"ll offer him food again when one of the Rats Has babies...
Oh yeah, I picked Him up Yeasterday with out gloves!!!
He didnt even care.... Yes!
