Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
Boaman, awesome pictures! Do you catch any Tuna around those rigs? We get the fattest trout on our coastline during the winter. The weather has been so bad I have yet to be able to catch a nice one over my record of 24". I especially like that Bull red you caught!

Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
Thanks!
Those rigs are just in the bay. I have offshore pics, just gotta dig em up. I gave up offshore fishing a few years ago. Just got to be too much time, wear on the old bones and too much $$.
I mostly fished for grouper, snapper, cobia, etc.... Ill find some pics.

Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
Nice trout Boaman! I love fishing around rigs. Never know what you're gonna catch. That kayak fishing looks like a lotta fun. I need to try that for sure.

Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
Thanks, all reds over about 24" are released...dont like to eat em bigger than that. That one was 36-38ish. We got one just over 40" on the wall that my wife caught on our 5th anniversary...(7years ago). We tried to release but caught it on light line and in a strong current so it wouldnt revive.
Decided to mount it as a momento....Ill get a pic of it too if yall want.

Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
We release them too after that size. 18 - 24 are the best for eating. Although with the 20 inch minimum now, good eating reds can be hard to come by. But nothing like the fight of a red over 30. They are insane.

Re: Fishing thread. Show us your fish!
Nice Kings, I love Kingfishing season when they're all over out there. I bring out my Snook rod, which is a 7ft Carrot Stix and a 40pt Quantum Cabo for the reel, and I catch Bonito and Kings ALL day. When we go out deep sea fishing, I bring that pole on the boat, and people ask, "Is that your sabiki rod?" I say hahahah, "I'm catching Kings with this buddy" they laugh and don't believe that I can reel in a 4ft kingfish on a Snook set up. I've proved them wrong everytime. I am a light tackle junkie. I catch Snook on a Gloomis made for bass, and a 10pt Catalyst, 10pt!! The drag is like 2lbs haha. I caught my first 40inch Snook on it this last Spring.
