Re: Whats your job?
I sell tools and safety supplies to Gov agencies.
I am basically a tool salesman, but I sell to Federal, state and local gov. agencies. I have been doing it now for 11 years and I have actually NEVER had any other job.

Re: Whats your job?
Hmm, well in the last 5 years ive had around 11 jobs.. I get bored so easily. ( I wasnt fired from any of them). I guess the main one ive had was working for the government. I worked for the FDA, DOE, and now I work for the National Park Service. Which I do love, and plan on staying here. Im hopefully gonna get training to become a ranger at some point. My favorite was working for a local animal sanctuary that takes in abused, neglected and abandoned farm animals, and keeps them for the rest of their lives. I was the animal caretaker for the 50, 500 lb pigs, and 5 horses! It was the best!!

Re: Whats your job?
My job today involved getting musked by a cuban boa... hands down the WORST musk I've ever encountered... was like a stream of grey-poupon mustard that smelled like 100x concentrated amazon tree boa musk...

Re: Whats your job?
I work at the Florida museum of natural history mammalogy collection as a curatorial assistant. i curate specimens which basically means i number bones, cut up dead animals, stuff dead animals, and clean bones. I also assist with skeletonizing all the Florida panthers since we are the depository for their remains. All the panthers that are found dead are necropsied at the fish and game office in town then we go over and pick them up. Then we skin the carcass, deflesh it, have our dermestid beetles eat the rest of the flesh, soak the bones in ammonium hydroxide, dry them, they are then numbered and stored in a box in a cabinet.
I'm also working on curating our gray squirrels, cleaning otter and bobcat skulls, cleaning a few bat skeletons, and helping reorganize the entire collection phylogenetically. Really cool job and I enjoy doing it. Sometime soon I'll be analyzing the skull measurements of our panthers to determine if there's any measurable changes in the skull morphology of the current population due to the introduction of Texas pumas in 1995. Basically see what the repercussions are for integrading the two subspecies. The pic is of me with one of our panthers.
Oh and I also work about 30 hrs a week at a Wild Birds Unlimited, a birding and nature retail store.

Re: Whats your job?
wow, all you have such interesting jobs.
Mine, well, is rasing rodents and reptiles. I think sometimes I see more poo than people.
But the snakes are cool and the rooms are warm

Uhh.... you can't really get a degree in taxonomy. But you can get one in molecular phylogenetics (or at least specialize in it). Pretty cool field that can answer a ton of questions by looking at dna. The curator of mammals at the museum analyzes the dna and phylogenetic relationships of mammalian parasites to build phylogenetic trees of the louse species to compare with their mammalian host trees. Pretty ingenious way of studying mammalian evolution. Look him up Dr. David Reed.
