Dang, time flies, doesn't it?! It seems like it was just last week that I was debating the merits of moving to FL vs staying in MI.
Shopping for a home on the Space Coast has been a headache. Every house that I liked already had a contract pending. On my last day of househunting, I settled on a modest little 3 bed/2 bath home. It's smaller than I would've liked, but it's more than enough room for myself, my dog, and my herps.
I'm thinking my first little project is going to be repainting the exterior. Ther's nothing wrong with the current paint, aside from the color not appealing to me. Other than that, everything seems to be mechanically and aesthetically sound.
Here's a quick pic of the pool, which was a selling point for me.

Parties will be frequent, probably every weekend.
The geese will probably go, as well as the birdhouse. Right now there's no plans to replace them with pink flamingoes. That may change once I spend too much time in the sun, though.
It really didn't require much thought after seeing the pool. The interior of the house was just as nice. I'll admit that the master bath was a bit small for my tastes, but I can adjust to that.
The home inspection was just done yesterday, and one potential problem was identified. Since the house was built in 1973, aluminum wiring was used. Granted, the house has survived 30 years without burning down, but the wiring is something that I want to remedy asap.
Other than that, I view this house as being a good buy, and had no qualms about noffering full price for it.

Melbourne is just south a little ways (75 miles plus or minus) south of Daytona. Easy commute for "The" reptile show!!! [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] Unfortunately when I used to live in Daytona, it was before they started having reptile shows there.

Yep, I'm right in the middle of it all...
I have no excuse to miss Daytona this year, especially since it starts on my birthday.
I'm entitled to a free five day pass at Universal Studios.
Also, I get miscellaneous discounts at the World of the Pocket-picking Mouse, which I will visit when #$%^&#$%^&#$%^&#$%^& freezes over or Michael Eisner is gone- whichever comes first.
Deep sea fishing is something that I plan on trying. Heck, I may even buy my own boat one day.
Although I'll probaly embarass myself, I may even try my hand at surfing, as some of the best waves in the nation are to be found right outside the main gate of Patrick AFB.
Yep, life is good.
