I've decided to start doing education programs again, after 4 years off. When I was doing programs then, it was mostly for small libraries, so my charge was minimal. Now that I'm in a larger city, I'd like to get started again with programs for the schools and the libraries. What is a good amount to charge for, say, a half-hour program? $50? I know when my mom worked for a library she said one of the local zoos charged over $100 for a program, but that seems overpriced to me. But I don't want to sell myself short, either. Any suggestions? For those of you that do programs, what do you charge?

well, if your doing it for schools, remember that most teachers end up paying out of pocket for them.
If your going to charge 50$ make sure its worth it to them, have plenty of animals they can see and touch (if they feel so inclined)
When I was doing schools several years ago, I did them for free.
I would bring a medium sized pythons , a few lizards, a turtle or two (kids seem to love turtles more than anything) and a tarantula is always good for the "ick" factor.
if your going to charge, just make it a good presentation for the money, thats all im trying to say.
