Stupid Mich. Weather......

There goes my mushroom picking,,,RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_evil.gif[/img] Just when ya think cool they are gona be popin good because its 45 degrees at night perfect for musrooms to pop and tons rain.... start picking few and sure enough ,,,, MAN IT SNOWS ... [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif[/img] and freezes again.. what the heck.. no mushrooms again.. now its warming up again .. it better stay that way. Last year and many years befour that at this time i was making really good money off them mushrooms... I hate having itchy mushroom fingers.. funny thing is after you start picking for a few days ya start dreaming morels to boot....its like darn it cant sleep all i see is woods ground and huge morels in my eyes...LOL!!!!!!!! And drats as the out of towners are gona start commin up to so that means heavey compotion...eeeeeeeeeeeeee [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif[/img] Sorry i had to vent you all have a good one... me im gona be out in the woods picking mushrooms, i hope.... Ok, so this morning the weather guy's like.. "Really nice weather out today, mid to high 50s, but don't get used to it, there's a snow strom coming to the northland on sunday night"

First the black morels will run for 2 weeks then the whites and grays for another 2 weeks... Went out this morn and got 4 pounds..with the weather being nice they should be growing real well by tomarrow...now all we need is some rain... [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

LOL ,

My Aunt goes every year to pick them . Makes a good gravy to put on steak and bake in the oven . Yum . You seeing any herps out there ? Some at least should be out by now .

Durring the day its been warming up but i havent seen anything in the last week do to it being cold at night.. Normaly i come across all kinds snakes and lots frogs, have seen some turtles out basking on the logs in the swamp but thats it... [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img] Hopefully by next week il start seeing some toads and snakes.. few weeks ago it was nice and warm out and durring the rain there was frogs everywhere and the next morn i came across several garter snakes... Now theres nothin out there.. im bummin.. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img]

I know what you mean . In NW Ohio we have been a bit warmer but the herps are not showing up yet . Some frogs where calling a few weeks ago but since then nothing . I want to do some field herpin .
