Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention- my son won a nice Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun at the NRA fundraiser not too long ago. He'll probably be taking it with him to go prairie dogging with my dad in a couple weeks.

Morti's 1942 Mosin-Nagant:
My Walther P22 and Morti's Taurus 38 snubnose:
I just stripped the paint and polished up my CZ-82. It will eventually have Zebra wood grips *grin*:
Morti also has a .22 rifle, don't have pics of it yet, unless you count the one where it's sitting on the bench beside me as I am shooting the Mosin-Nagant, lol. His M44 ought to be here soon. WEWT!

.. that's a great photo!.. almost exactly like the pictures we see in the news here every other day from another Gulf cartel drug-bust or stash house (on either side of the border).. except for the low-brass shotgun shells.. in the real crime-scene photos it's all 3-1/2" Hi-Power BBs, 00 and slugs..

Be good.

I never pegged the drug runners as having targets laying around.
I am going to have to track down and scan a pic of m old .38 and the herp that packed it.

I started bowhunting my senior year in high school and I would switch back and forth from bow to rifle throughout the season. After I finally took a buck down with a bow about two years later, I never hunted with a rifle again.
I rarely hunt any more (too expensive), but I do shoot wildlife with my pentax.

How was the kick on that beast?! I've heard it's not much more than a 12ga..
I would give my left "acorn" to shoot a bmg 50 cal!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo jealous! I think there is a range like 20 miles from where I live that has one you can shoot but I just haven't made it out there yet.....

i own a 12 guage shotty and the kick on the 50 cal BMG felt not quite as strong due to the 6in. wide muzzlebrake... If you get a chance to shoot one TAKE it, its awsome!

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
This is my favorite hunting companion (during "the season").

break action, single shot, ported 29.5" barrel 20 GA with interchangeable choke tubes

Worked on the wood a little after that first pic, it looks better now.

Like to camp a lot, this is my home away from everything.

Carry these everyday, I always have at least one of them on me..............Yes, I sleep with them too
Thought I'd throw this in too, it is a .40 shotshell pic from last summer in A.Z.

I need to stop now or I will probably overload the server

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
So where do you think I have been since last week Wednesday (big grin)
Notched up my first Blesbuck (haven't got a fog what the real English name is)
Hubby bagged some springbuck and Impala too.
My personal fav hunting rifle is my Thompson Comtender 7TCU. But the range was a bite wide to use her on this hunt so I used my 7x64. Legistation is very strick here you are only allowed one hand gun for self defence and 3 other rifles for hunting and sport. You need to be a qualified dedicted hunter or sportsman to have more. Guess what course I'm doing in September.
Yes your right knitting for beginners. lol

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I have been wanting to get pics of my collection for a while now, but never got around to it. One major reason is for insurance reasons, oh well, I get to it, its on my list...
In short I have.... um....
Muzzle Loaders:
T/C Omega .50 inline
Knight .50 side hammer (good looker, but total crap)
Fllipietta .44 6 shooter (fun but a bugger to clean)
Shotguns:
Gaucha 410
New Eng. 20g Single Shot
New Eng. 10g Single Shot (and what a kicker)
Rifles:
Rem .270WIN (my deer rifle)
Win .32SPL Lever Action
Marlin Model-9 9MM Rifle (this puppy is sweet)
Marlin Model-60W 22LR
Glenfield Mod60 22LR (pre 1961)
Interarms Model 62SA 22LR (pump)
Pistols:
LLAMA .45 (my bed side buddy)
Titan .25 (pea shooter)
That about does it, I want to get a good 12ga pump so I can get some duck hunting in, hard to do with a single shot. Not impossible mind you, but harder when you don't have that follow up shot.

Wussy for having to use a quick release.
You should be able to draw it back with two fingers.
Nice bow

I practice occasionally with no quick release, but my accuracy greatly improves when i use it. Also, my two fingers and knuckles used to pull string were broke in my car wreck. No chance in doing it now.

Nice bow.
I use a release when shooting a compound. Period. Accuracy is a must for a clean kill.
