Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
This is a gun I've wanted since they came out, and then I found the compact version and HAD to have it for a new CC.
Ruger SR 9C w/ 17 round clip
same gun w/ 10 round clip which makes it ideal for CC. It's slightly larger than my Bersa Thunder .380.
Mostly my guns are rather generic and used for home protection, fun shooting, and carry.
Ruger .44mag Super Blackhawk
Sig .22 mosquito w/ sound suppressor & laser sights
Mossberg 500 20 ga
NEF Single shot 12ga
Mossberg Maverick 12ga
Ruger .22 LR/mag Single Six

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I personally like the 17 round clip on that ruger. I enjoy being able to grip a gun with ALL my fingers.

a "frankengun" w/ a spikes lower, DSA middy upper, BCM bolt group and a bargain of an optic.
I was going to go with an acog variant, but they were just too darn much , if I am going to put that much into a scope it better have better than 4x darn it. so I found this ncstar scope, and it has held true with the abuse I put it through, and the clarity is decent (not US optics, nightforce, or leupold good but okay) and it has 3-9x and ill reticle (which is cheesy to me) but only spent 100 bucks on it.

My new mix of classic and technology. Marlin 336CS 30-30 mounted with a Gen1 Night Vision 4x Scope.
My new night time hog rig. It will do until I get my AR-10 to mount the night vision to.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
just picked up a new lower from plum crazy for an ar-15 upper.. coolest thing is this lower is almost completely polycarbon, huge weight difference but still handles well. also fo the lower with a compression stock it only cost 150.00
btw. that saiga is kick!!! im waiting on picking up a new toy, kriss .45 carbine. and for anyone who likes plinking with .22's all the gsg's are phenomenally made and very fun yet inexpensive to shoot, i have a sport and just got a mp5k version.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
How does your Saiga shoot? We shot a friend of mine's a couple weeks ago and it stovepiped on every shot even after adjusting the gas valve.

The saiga shoots great, it is very reliable, is your friends saiga converted? if it isn't it is eligible for warranty because it has fewer gas ports than normal.

Don't think it is converted. It is right out of the box.

two of my coworkers have out of the box saiga 12's too, and both had failure to extract/feed issues with about 4 diffrent kinds of factory full power loads during a shooting outing once.
the winchester ranger reduced recoil 12ga 00 worked fine though.
I think its hit or miss with some of them.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
Well I got my tax return back last week, and after paying off the property taxes I decided to get a Walther PK380.
I kinda fell in love with it on site, just hope it can live up the ppk reputation.
Here is a photo of it, disclaimer not my photo.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I should warn you
380 ammo isn't exactly easy to find these days.
may want to pick a caliber you can actually practice with.
