Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I almost picked up an XD. For handguns, Taurus seems to keep producing weapons that meet all the details I am looking for. I buy more expensive guns and always come back to Taurus. My new Taurus 24/7 Pro DS seems nearly perfect on paper. Just gotta get it out to the range. I am also trying to work a deal on a new rifle. i think i am selling my Mak-90 to help pay for it. I need form AND function

selling the mak 90?
DUDE
that would be a keeper if you ask me, those were some of the best norinco builds out there.
If you got a good one, it will last a lifetime.
they aren't going to win any beauty contests, but they will always go bang when you want them to.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
It is a sweet shoot and never had it jam on me. It is fun for just shooting some cheap ammo, but it is just the only one of my firearms that is not for a specific purpose. I want to get a DPMS 308 stainless bull barrel and mount a night vision scope on it for popping night porkers. I thought about mounting it on the MAK-90 but I don't trust the combination of accuracy of power with it and i have no desire to track in the dark any more than needed. Eventually I will probably get an AR15 to play with and customize although I like the 7.62x39 rounds better than 223.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I like the XD alot, I was going to go with a XDM 40 for my next pistol.
I like the 7.62x39 and the .223, so I can see why it would be a tough call.
they both have their pros/cons depending on application.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
If i get it it will be for home/self protection.....and to take to the range or somewhere else to shoot for fun i read about it here, this was pretty impressive to me, especially since it never jammed for these guys

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
XD and XDM have outstanding reviews. I have shot the 9mm XD subcompact and it was a very nice shoot for such a small weapon.

It works well, you can either zero them out at different ranges or keep them the same, and if you just want to use the HWS you just sight it with both eyes so you dont have to focus the scope. the combo gives good flexibility.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
makes sense.
like the SIR rail system too.
or is it vltor?
took some close up AR pics
POF P415 w/ EOtech 512, MI buis, and a M3 light, I try to keep it fairly simple.
a "frankengun" w/ a spikes lower, DSA middy upper, BCM bolt group and a bargain of an optic.
I was going to go with an acog variant, but they were just too darn much , if I am going to put that much into a scope it better have better than 4x darn it. so I found this ncstar scope, and it has held true with the abuse I put it through, and the clarity is decent (not US optics, nightforce, or leupold good but okay) and it has 3-9x and ill reticle (which is cheesy to me) but only spent 100 bucks on it.

It is a SIRs, and love it!
Great setups! very nice, believe it or not i have seen alot of ncstar scopes being used which has to be saying something. But yea acogs are crazy expensive but from what i hear worth it.
