Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I really like the Veritas Aequitas grips. They looks slick (litteraly), but they are so pretty that it makes up for it.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
We are having a youth weekend throughout Bama for deer. My 7 year old Lexie has been practicing and getting excited. She is doing well. Ive got some good sign at the property and should be able to put her on one. Wish us luck!
I pitty the fool deer that walks out in front of this blood thirsty lil monkey.
She is PUMPED!

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
Well, we had a call about some coyotes killing some calves out at a friends ranch. We went out there and managed to get a few coyotes. Im sorry if this photo offends anyone but you don't want to see what the calves looked like, i promise you. All they had out there was an old polaroid camera lol.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
Just picked up this new Mossberg 100ATR2 .308 this weekend.
Going up to sight it in the Sat after Thanksgiving and then hitting the woods for my deer hunting trip the weekend after.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
I can't wait to take out my new baby for a little bang bang

Rossi (Taurus) Model 972 6" 357 Magnum
I missed having a wheel gun and I loved my old Rossi 38 in college. And now that they are part of Taurus, it has a lifetime warranty.
And I picked up another 45. Taurus PT945 .45ACP

My favorite gun I ever owned was my Taurus PT92 but I just don't trust 9mm. This is the same basic form and function but in a nice 45. Nice DA/SA with a decock.
Unfortunately, I have a moisture problem in the house and have to go all stainless. The 1911 was starting to get rust dust already so i elected to sell it. Next year my goal is a stainless XDM 40.

It sounds dumb, but every dream I ever had where I had to use a firearm, a 9mm never stopped anyone but my 40 always did. lol
Of course, the ballistics and one shot stop of a .40 make it an overall better choice and you can still get nice high cap mags for many models. Of course, I wouldn't want be on the other end of any caliber. But i won't keep anything less than a 40 for personal defense.
The 357 is a bit much for home defense. It is mainly to carry in the woods. For home defense you really have to drop to about 125grain loads for it or load .38 +P. But in the woods you want a hot load that can drop a charging pig.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
Fair enough
anything a 40 can do many 9mm loads can do to though.
not really biased, I have 9, 40, 45, 45 gap, and a handful of other calibers that I like.

Re: Firearms / Hunting Thread
The Rifle is a 1939 M-44 Moisin Nagant. It is a russian Rifle from World War II. Second is a Model 1859 .44 Magnum Remake, it shoots a .44 mm lead ball, but can shoot a .45mm if you get the right attachment/part.

I would love to see the barrel markings on that M44. I have a couple of Mosins and that one is interesting.

I need to break out the camera for my new sidearm. Of course, maybe I should wait since I may be getting a new hole puncher soon.
