im sure youve all gotten the list in your email about stupid things in the world. this like on a certain brand of cake it says "do not turn over" on the bottom of the box. on a certain brand of christmas lights it says "for indoor or outdoor use only".(where else are you going to put it, in the door way?). on Deltas bag of peanuts it says "warning: may contain nuts" why is there brail on a drive up ATM.ATM... thats why im posting this... yesterday i noticed a sign on the outside of a gas station near my house, it says "ATM machine inside". when i say noticed the sign i realized(as some of you might have when you read that) that "ATM" is an acronym for "automated teller machine" so what the sign is actually saying is "automated teller machine machine" a bit redundant in my opinion. and im sure everyone has noticed things like this. personally i find things like this quite hilarious. i was just wondering what everyone thinks about things like this and share your stories if you have em'. and maybe YoU can help me with a question ive been thinking...are the people that make these signs and warnings and whatnot stupid? or do they think everybody else is? I think that they are trying to cya on the legalities of human nature wanting to sue over petty crap.
But I see signs that could have had a little more thought put into them all the time.
An example, a new strip mall has a sign at every entrance, that looks ok untill you read the last two store names, Old Navy and Dicks sporting goods.
They are side by side so that if you read them quickly, all you see is 'OLD NAVY DICKS' with sporting goods in smaller letters.
Then the places that do not do maintenence as needed, such a lights in their sign burning out.
Affle house , Tos R us, Texaco as station etc...

I saw one in a mall one time outside a Claire's store that said..."Ears Peirced Free While You Wait!"....hmm and the alternative to waiting is? I guess that would be wonderful if you could detatch your ears and drop them off.

On I-65 just south of Louisville, there is a sign that says "Used Cows for Sale". I have always wondered if the cows were used for normal cattle purposes or what.
And in Cookeville Tennessee where I went to college there is a mall that the sign on the wall just says "Mall *". Because Cookeville is a college town, there is always a spraypainted footnote "* - This Mall Sucks!"
