I hate
I'm starting a thread about homemaking stuff that is hateful. Because, I am stripping wallpaper and the glue is sticking to the walls and I am having to put all sorts of stuff on the wall and actually steam the gloppy glue off. In fact, after steaming all day I'm fixing to go fix myself a nice little beverage 
I hate the whole wallpaper process.
I have other things I hate about homemaking:
Cleaning the catbox
Vacuuming dog hair
Dusting
Washing windows which I really need to do.
How about y'all?

I hate doing laundry..there is no way to speed it up and I can't stand that.
I don't like cleaning floors because a mop just doesn't do it well enough for me and it kills my already messed up back to get on my hands and knees and scrub it.
Also..cleaning bath tubs.

Cleaning dishes that are STILL dirty after having been hand washed, and put in the dishwasher...

Oddly enough, I like ironing, and I like scrubbing reptile water dishes(it's very satisfying). >.>

When we bought our house, they had wall paper in a few of the rooms, whether it was one wall or a border, it was a PAIN to remove. We went and bought one of those steamer things and it was the biggest grossest mess ever, so I know what you are going through, Lucille.
The chores that I hate the most are
Cleaning the cat box
cleaning the floors
Dusting (because of my allergies)
Making the bed (I don't know why, but I HATE making the bed)
Scrubbing the tubs and toilets
Fixing the garbage disposal (you know, when it stops working because its gunked up, and you have to use a knife to stab and scrap all the crap off the blades? It makes me nauseated. lol)

Ditto on what all have said about wall paper. I hate removing it! Other than that it's the cat box. Love the cat but hate the mess.

I've done a lot of wall paper stripping and re-painting. USE LOTS OF WATER!! it will take a lot more than you think to damage your walls. keep the paper wet using a spray bottle on a spray not a stream. Then use something like a putty knife to scrape. Then sponge wash the rest of the goop off.
I'm not a fan of cleaning fan blades. Hard to get to, then lots of dust. I do enjoy making the bed tho. It's so nice to see super tight sheets when you're ready to go to bed.

I second that. Although before I injured my back I loved scrubbing floors on my hands and knees. Scrubbing is the only way to get floors clean, in my opinion. Especially when you are as meticulous as I am.
I love housework though.

Sadly, the walls are not good. I tried skimming, and it is not something I'm good at. It looks like I'm going to have to put new paper up.

WHY OH WHY do people put wallpaper up? There's this butt-ugly truck themed wallpaper in one of the guest rooms here, gives me a headache to LOOK inside that room, let alone clean, groom a dog (I turned it into my dog room, hehe) or put stuff in. I can understand applying a nice, neutral wallpaper, like just a plain design in a plain color, but themed?
It's like that show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, where they give 5 year olds the room of their dreams, either filled with tons of pink butterflies or firetrucks with red red walls, and you wonder, what happens when the kid grows out of that stuff? Or what if they move?
Ugh, among the things I hate is cleaning the carpet, and the walls, that includes painting them.
OH, and I just put blinds up, definitely something I never want to do again.

I have seen one wall paper theme that I REALLY liked, and that is at my aunt's house. In her guest room, she has a ton of pictures of her horses, spare saddles, bridals hanging on the walls, and the wallpaper border is victorian style horses. Its very classy looking. Anything else I've ever seen I haven't been real wild about lol.

When we stripped the wallpaper off our lawyer block wall, we put some nicks and dips into the wall behind it while we were scraping it off, and so after it dried, we took some putty, filled in the nicks and dips, and sanded it down smooth and painted it. It looks pretty good after its all said and done! lol
