Green Belt Video...
First off I promise this is much better than the horrible other videos that I have posted to this point. I apologize for the previous videos they were bad. I just found this fabulous program on my computer called Movie Maker for Windows that allows me to do a wonderful thing called edit raw material. Anyways, as many of you know I take martial arts is my other hobby. This video takes a 55 minute long test and puts everything I did into just shy of 6 minutes. This test was taken on 10/18/2008. It's four months old be still fun. So here's the link and let me know whatcha think. And Happy Saint Patricks to everyone.

Never too late to get involved. Some do it because they love it. Some do it for the health benefits. I do it cause I love it. Anyways, thanks for the nice comment.

Lots of different weapons, nice video. My son and I are testing the end of next month for black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'm starting to get nervous already.

Ahh, Tae Kwon Do...I've thought about belting in Tae Kwon Do after I achieve my Black Belt in the art I am in now. Since Tae Kwon Do has a high emphasis on footwork I've thought that it would be a good way to improve my legs. Anyways, how long have you and your son been studying Tae Kwon Do-around 3 years? That must be fun for you to take it with your son. Nothing like the pretest jitters. Black Belt is a big one. Best of luck with your test next month.

Yes it will be a month over 3 years and its a great to work with my son. Like you said its never to late to start, I started at the age of 37. I think I'm very lucky my master is a 6th black belt who is nothing short of amazing. He's the schools top student trained under GrandMaster Kong 9th degree 2 time world champion. Its also great to have an active GrandMaster. He attends all the test, runs a top notch school and will present the black belt to me provided I dont mess it up.

Sounds great. You hit it right on the head. Picking the right school and instructor is the most important decision a potential student will ever make. Many even believe that more important than WHAT you study is WHO is your instructor. As I'm sure you know, all you can do is study, practice, and be confident that you are prepared. One finally note regarding Black Belts-as you know, it is just the beginning. Many compare it the real start of the journey. Best of luck to you.

I just finished reading the bio on your Grand Master Kong. Interesting guy. This was my favorite quote and I very much agree.
“There is no secret to developing a fast kick,” explained Master Kong. “I trained very hard, often doing up to four thousand kicks a day. So if you want to kick fast you must practice often.”
I have some fellow students always comment that they want so and so's kicking ability or so and so's sparring ability and whenever I here this I always think and sometimes say you can, you just have to make it a priority and practice. People are too used to short cuts and never want to put in the work to achieve a certain level of proficiency. How good you become is directly correlated to how much you practice.
