who got the last laugh?

we all know little max loves to torture me, he thrives on it. well feeding day he got his xxx-jumbo rat and chance got 2. chance only ate one of hers. i gave max her other one because i did not want to throw it away. i will NEVER do that again.
so here is the story...
max was stuffed. we are talking bulge galore. so of course i could not miss my chance to torment him back. i would sit by his cage and say 'plop,plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is' then i would laugh at him. he would glare at me. i would walk by his cage and say ' i cant believe i ate the whole thing, you ate it ralph' pointing at him and laughing. i was amazed he was not banging on his cage and still wanting out.
laura came over and i teased him more. aunt laura found no amusement in me teasing him. plop, plop, fizz, fizz. 'want an Alka seltzer max?
now like most burms do max loves to say hiss hiss. he comes out of his cage on his own and crawls right up to you and puts his face in yours and says hiss hiss. he is not mad when he does this. he is just very verbal. while i was sitting there singing plop plop fizz fizz he said his usual hiss but it did not come out with a big boy hiss hiss, he was to stuffed. it was more like a psst psst, this of course had me here he is all stuffed.

well many hours go by and i would still walk by him and point and laugh until he did this


i went nuts and thought he was dying! i called laura in hysteria and told her to get here now that i needed to get max to an all night vet. i was crying by this time. thinking that last rat did him in. i was rushing getting his tote ready and laura arrived. as soon as he heard/felt her voice he put his body back to normal and started pounding on his door ( i guess he knows he always gets to come out when laura comes over)
he was right back to normal and there i am crying like a baby and i swear to god he was laughing at me.



so you tell me...who got the last laugh again?


he will never ever get 2 of anything again. i swear to goodness i did not even sleep all night cause he had me so stressed out from that ordeal. today he is fine and active again and i am off to work with maybe 3 hours sleep tops.

Max is getting you back for the time (memorialized on the 'I Love Mommy thread you had) where you walked right by him with two plump rats for Chance, and didn't feed Max at all that evening. He has been plotting ever since that day, and he gotcha good.....

he is laying sideways right now. i guess he is to full to lay on his belly.
he gets right up though when i go to his cage. i wish i never had fed him the second rat.

rather then sit here in a full blown panic, i called bwsmith. bw said that it is something they will do when they stuff themselves. max is probably exposing his belly to the heat. i felt better when he told me snakes will go in a chicken house and just keep eating and eating because they dont know when they may get thier next meal.

Sorry to laugh, louise. It was a funny story the way you told it (especially the corny old commercials lol). But I think he'll probably be okay. Mine have stuffed themselves a few times and did okay with it, especially garbage mouth Veronica.

it is okay star i meant the story to be funny at first. i took the first set of pictures the day he ate to tell the funny story. i did not get around to it and when i did he was laying on his sid. but i admit before the side thing i did laugh at him all day and i did keep singing the commercials to him.i was having a picnic teasing him cause of all the stuff he has done to me. lol. me and him are like tom and jerry. the picture of me was fake, i took it to show the constant look of shock he puts on my face and the picture of him looks like he is smiling/laughing.

but no matter how mischievous he is.... i love him to death.

Louise, every story you tell about Max makes me more sure that he and my corn snake must be related. Draco does the same kind of crazy stunts Max does! I don't think I handle such a brat if he got that big though. On second though, oh yeah I could. I wouldn't have to worry about losing him in as many things if he was that big.

Now I get to go to sleep with a big ol' smile on my face thinking about Max and his crazy stunts! One of these day I have to come meet him!

It's real scary when our White-lips fall asleep with their bellies up like that... on an empty stomach. *tap tap* on the door, no movement. Have to grab a hook and touch them in order to get a response. lol

he is perfectly fine today and would gladly have another rat or 2.
he is back to doing his hyper jumping jacks and singing opera. he is staring at the spot where the rats fall from the heavens. i have aged 5 years but he is great. i told him through clenched teeth that he will NEVER get 2 xxxjumbo rats again.
