College People with snakes
Ok just trying to see what's out there. It doesn't mean that we are kids or anything just bein in school. I'm a late 70's kid . But how many of us are there out there? I mean lots of "kids" have reptiles but for the older of us in school again is it really this easy to balance all of this or are you havin probs balancing things like I do sometimes? I mean to get the kids off and then go to school myself and have the hole family thing and the reptiles can be overwelming sometimes. I just relax after everyone else is sleepin and it's normally with a snake arround my neck.
Ok I'm not pryin into your personal life , just tryin to see if other people are like me and just unwind the same ways. Any thoughts are welcome.
Btw I'm goin to school for welding so it's kinda a funky schedule. Then ya gotta do projects on your own too. So between homework and school time and projects it is hinda hectic. The snakes just help me with my days and relax me.

Ya well I got family time too. I have teenagers and toddlers so ya gotta have that. It's just life gets stressed and everyone needs time out so idk what others do but snakes are my relaxation process.
Lava you're still a younger one of the group right? 20's right?

Re: College People with snakes
I'm in the "younger group" I guess. I'm 24 but in my fifth year of college with a few left to go. So I'm not in the older crowd but I'm also not in the standard 18-22 year old crowd. Working and school is hard especially since both schedules are variable and I never know when I'll be free. Fortunately I'm a homebody so my downtime is spent either on the computer or with my critters.

HA. I can barely stand the cold here in Oklahoma. Though my boyfriend's family is from Minnesota. But I'll be sticking with the warm weather states lol.

Re: College People with snakes
I'm in my mid thirties with two daughters and I decided to go back to school for another degree — something different. I hate the industry that I'm in, so it's time for a change because I'm not getting any younger.
Anyways, I have aprox. 50 reptiles (mostly snakes), 2 spiders, dogs and cats and it is kicking my ***.
I'm going to cut the snake collection in half so that I can focus my attention on a smaller and more specialized collection.
That said, I will be selling some very nice corns, rat snakes, kings, and others that I have no plans for breeding. Oh, and I won't be asking too much for them either.

Printing is what I NEED to get out of. Trust me, it sucks.
I'm going for a Biology degree which means that I'll probably end up teaching, unless I can land a gig with Texas Parks and Wildlife.

What about a zoo that needs a herp person that can handle snakes and other herps. That would be cool too. Bio is everything and if ya specialize in herps ya might make better cash.
