Has anyone ever...

This might be a dumb question, but I'm wondering if anyone has ever used an electric heating blanket, like the human kind. Hooked up to a thermostat and used as an under tank heater?

Re: Has anyone ever...

Not I. I do give my dog an electric blanket in his crate during winter though. This year I've just been duct taping a 24'x12'(approximate) under-tank heater to the side of his crate though. His blankie died.

I don't imagine an electric blanket would work well for snakes though. In an emergency though, it's better than nothing. But I'd still try heat packs first, hot watter bottles wrapped in towels second, a space heater third, etc etc before the blanket.

Re: Has anyone ever...

I've heard people don't recommend it. I Think I'm gonna try to buy an RHP from pro products for my vision 632.

Re: Has anyone ever...

I would be scared to leave an electric blanket on while away from the house. I've heard stories about them burning a place down.
