How long can I keep a juvenile RTB in a 20L?

I have been having some climate issues in my room lately. The propane stove is set to a thermostat. Unfortunately, within minutes of the stove being on, the humidity in my room drops to 30-40% at most. That means that in the tanks it becomes 10%. Bad bad bad

To amplify the problem, my room gets extremely cold at night and the UTHs and CHEs couldn't keep up in a 40gal tank. I'm trying to keep electricity costs relatively low or else I'll get yelled at.

Out of desperation, I went out and bought a bunch of 20-gal tanks for all of my reptiles. It is a bit of a downsizing, but the temperatures are now perfect and more manageable.

When the time comes, I'm just going to invest in a Boaphile 4x2x1 assembly for each reptile (the royals can get a split one since there's only two).

In the meantime, I don't know how long my boa can stay in a 20-g Long tank. She is perfectly cozy in there now with plenty of room to roam around. Her head is about the size of a quarter and she's about 1.5' long.

How long until she doesn't fit?

A few months is ok. I do have two 40-gal breeders open right now, and that should last her well over two years when she outgrows the 20-breeder. I've seen people keep a single adult RTB in a 40 gal breeder, but that seems a bit small for an adult.

She's nowhere near as large as my royal pythons (which are actually still quite small) and they're happy as clams in the new tank. I'll post some pictures up later.

Re: How long can I keep a juvenile RTB in a 20L?

if its female, no way would she fit in a 40gal her whole life a smaller male, probably a 6ft cage IMO is barely sufficient for a 7+ft snake, im gonna try to get my 7-footer an 8ft cage sometime this spring/summer shes really active though and im sure she would enjoy the extra space plus, now that shes on bunnies (she had never been fed a bunny before, i think he only fed her a jumbo rat once every two weeks ), im sure shes gonna grow some lol.
