well then, merry xmas to me!! what a nice surprise :)
well, this is something i havent shared with yall.....we breed birds....something i have been doing for about 9 years now. i came home from to this:
its a baby meyers parrot, with the possibility of being pied, which is very rare. their mother is a pied, father a normal, both blue-bellied. best of all, the parents are feeding this baby!! the last baby they had, they smushed him or something and he didnt make it hopefully they will continue to feed this guy!! im excited!! meyers are one of my fave birds out there if its pied, we will be holding this one back for future breeding...ive been wanting to start up a pied project here

What a trip!
Congrats, that must be exciting to see! Looks so tiny and fragile, cute and ugly at the same time.

Wow, awesome! I can't wait to see how he/she turns out...Do you have pics of mom and dad??
I love parrots, I've always wanted one, but I've never been in the position to give them the social attention they need...Maybe someday though...

Re: well then, merry xmas to me!! what a nice surprise :)
Very adorable.
I've always wanted a big bird (or really just something handleable).. Those are beautiful.
We had a pair of Diamond Doves awhile back, but they were just way too flighty.

Re: well then, merry xmas to me!! what a nice surprise :)
oh no, all of the baby meyers we have raised were little social butterflies LOL. when strangers would come over, they would jump on the strangers wanting attention, they will let you pet them all over, mine have always let me lay them on their backs in my hand, they arent super noisy, and they dont get horribly temperamental when they start going through "puberty". one of these days im planning on keeping one of my meyers babies as a pet LOL.
