Horror Story

This happened here in Kingston, Jamaica, it was in the daily newspapers.

A whole container on the wharf that came from Florida was fumigated with poison because a snake had been seen in it. The snake, whatever it may have been, had not a chance.

Re: Horror Story

this further reinforces my opinion that people are jumpy, quick to scare, and we will eradicate ourselves from the face of the earth within 1500 years

Re: Horror Story

did they even check to see if the snake was from jamaica or not? and if it wasn't would it have been so hard to just capture the snake?

Unhappy Re: Horror Story

This was not a Jamaican snake.

It arrived in a container from Florida, and the container was on the wharf here in Kingston waiting to be unloaded when the snake was "spotted", the container closed again with its unfortunate innocent stowaway inside, and then along came the fumi-gators, and without any further ado, proceeded to annihillate the Enemy Within. No trying to find out what type of snake it was, whether or not it was venomous, whether it could be saved and quarantined and then used for education or given to the zoo or some strange and caring human like me.

I am trying to find out from a friend here, more details and see if we can learn what type of snake it was, and then I will be equipped with the information to write a scathing letter about this abominable and avoidable tragedy.
