Talking Banner Ads
Scared the Bejeezus outta me. I went to a pet site I visit occasionally and all of a sudden the banner was loudly informing me that if I clicked on it I could win a new Wii. I don't want no Wii but I REALLY don't want to deal with talking ads.
Have y'all run across ads like that before?

Re: Talking Banner Ads
Yes. They are terrifying. Give me pop-ups anyday: those talking banner ads are the most annoying things.

Re: Talking Banner Ads
Photobucket has started using those dreadful :censored: things...really ticks me off because I always listen to music, or have my speakers on, when I am on my computer...
I would switch to another photohosting site, if I didn't suspect those horrible forced audio ads wouldn't be in the new site soon as well
Another rant...I use Yahoo search all the time, like several dozen times a day...anyone else hate being bombarded by those giant flying ads, that trample and cover the page, keeping you from searching, or doing anything, untill you click the ad to make them go away?
Just another shameless attempt by advertisers to get around pop up blockers...I'll tell you I would pay some real good money for software that would destroy the audio/flying ads

Re: Talking Banner Ads
Ebay also now allows it's sellers to record a loud audio message, anytime you click to look at one of their ads...:cuss2:
I don't care if I am there shopping, I HATE hard sell tactics and pushy sellers...
I make it a policy now, not to buy anything from anyone, ever, on Ebay who intrudes into my music and peace, with their shreiking, unwanted, audio sales pitches...

Re: Talking Banner Ads
Hmmm...
I haven't seen (or heard) one. I was just on Photobucket too.
I do get notifications on things getting blocked from time to time, but I don't pay them any attention.
Could how you have the security settings on your computer have any affect?

Re: Talking Banner Ads
That's why I never have the volume on. Unless I'm listening to music.

Re: Talking Banner Ads
I haven't heard them either but do get a lot of blocked items messages at the top of the screen. Thank goodness because i often leave my set-up on as well. Would prob. make me ruin my pants.
