Pondering the thought of my own website,

I've been thinking very hard about making my own website with my own domain name.
I am going to have my snakes and whatnot on it for fun.

Anyone have any advice on where I should start? I was on and actually made an account on godaddy.com but have not gone too far on the site, didn't know if there were better options out there.

I don't have any advice for you but I too am interested in developing a site so I hope others with experience will reply.

One thing I would suggest is to not limit yourself to being hosted by sites such as godaddy, homestead, etc etc. There are some great individuals who have their own servers that host as well. I can suggest someone who is having a sale right now on hosting services (and does hosting for my site as well).

Unless you are fluent with HTML and the like, you'll need some basic website building software. I use WYSIWYG WebBuilder 5. It's not expensive and you can do a lot of things with it.
