No, I do not want. He's emaciated, dehydrated, by the looks of him he has MBD, a calcium deficiency.... the poor thing is knocking on death's door.

I just clicked the link again, and it looks like they took out his pics.

Yeah I noticed that he was really skinny and that they were feeding him normal lettuce. Now that you bring it up I want to beat them with a stick and give them nothing but lettuce and see how they do.

Some people make me sick. You know PetCo sells baby iguanas for FORTY BUCKS?? I had to stop in there once to pick up some emergency crickets and I ended up talking some people out of buying one. The associate there practically yelled at me for it! And this right here is exactly why I did it... People just don't research and understand what they're getting into...

I have a really fond spot for iggies. I just cannot see dedicating enough time to them. One of these days, when I'm well off and stable I'm going to open a rescue for them. Or rather, a haven for them. Like the Hotel California, but far less depressing, and for iggies.

It's not hard to do it right. It really isn't. A UVB bulb, a variety of greens, good heat, and a calcium powder. Seriously. That's par. It's not over the top great, but it's enough to keep them out of THAT condition.

It just breaks my heart.

Breaks my heart too Xeike. Poor abused, hopeless looking creature. Would take him in a flash just to try and make his last moments more comfortable...or miraculously see him to recovery and a good life. SIGH.

I would to, but I don't have an adequate cage, and greens are something that are not a big part of the household here. Not to mention, I just can not afford to run out and buy the equipment for a new cage, all the lights, the supplements he'll need, etc. on top of the $125 they're asking for him.

God I wish I could though.

iguanas are so overpopulated in the pet trade it is sick.....do you know how much that store pays for that iguana? Prolly about $2, that is a 2000% mark up.

Thats how much they were on the lists suppliers would send to my store back in the day

Get in touch with a local iguana rescue organization, even if they are a few states away and see if they can get involved and rescue the iguana.

man, that poor guys skin looks nasty, poor guy

if they take the time to buy him lettuce, why not just buy something more nutritious instead?? i buy BIG bundles of mustard or collard greens for less than $2

the skinker cant even eat it all before it goes bad, i could prob feed like 5 of those guys for a few weeks....

And the only reason Is that, s/he looks very unhealthy and is probably will die in the next two weeks. The vet bill will cost way over $1000, Antibiotics are not cheap.

3 - all he wants is the $$$ for the ig, and not a home with someone who cares enough to offer it a good home and immediate veterinary attention
