I saved a bat that one of the Lunch supervisors beat with a broom once, when I was a kid. I didn't know any better about it back then.. probably ended up dying because it's wings were mutilated.
Still, that's kind of silly bringing a dead animal into a school like that.. especially one that are known to be carriers of a disease like rabies.

Random, but does anyone think it's weird that the journalist chose the phrase "lets kids touch it"? Ha, doesn't scream professional writing to me.
But yes, that was a dumb move on the Mother's part..
