Cassies surgery.....

March 5th.. 8:30 am, Devos Childrens Hospital in Grand Rapids Mich. between now and then we have a lot to do.. we are gona get cassie out and about as much as possible. She has to have electrobes put into her head just befour she goes for suregery,, she also has to have more MRI's and Andrea has to go get blood taken for her sister tomarrow.. Some people from a church by us are gona take cassie to the mall to go shoppin for whatever, mainly clothes.. other than that she has been sick so she sees her doctor tomarrow and she will get put on a strong antibiotic to boost her imune system... my nerves are shot..eeeeeeeeeeeee.... I don't want to give any false hope, but I was wondering if Dr. Burzynski might be able to help you out. He is years ahead of the rest of the country in dealing with these types of ailments, plus his treatments are not worse than the disease. I believe he is worth checking out at the very least.

[img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif[/img] Ok everyone we will be leaving Tuesday so i will let everyone know whats going on friday sometime, when i get home for few hrs,, il post it on here.. she has done everything she can in the last few days , malls , iceskating, hang out with girlfriends that stayed the night we had a pizza party for them and movies.. she went out to eat few times with some of our friends and they took her shopping, she got blessed by father joe at church, she helped me do a lot of work with the animals and she went sledding..Shes gona pack somethings with me tomarrow and then spend the day with her ball python and another friend of hers she hasnt seen for awhile.. Her older sister and her hubby to be are gona redecorate her bedroom while we are gone and take care of everything here for us.. Il catch you on friday.. OK....Tracey didn't call me at all yesterday as expected to let know how CAssie's surgery went. I received a phonecall from Dawn [ Shy on the site here] today asking about how it went etc. Dawn lives right near the hospital that Cassie is in and had offered to go be with Tracey some also the other day. [ I've been dealing with sick kids here last couple days so hadn't gotten the name etc of the hospital to her at all as I wasn't ol at all]
I made some calls and found this out in regards to Cassie...
She went into surgical prep at 6am yesterday...surgery was to start at 8:30am..It didn't start till 11am though. Cassie was in surgery until 4 am this am...17 hours total of surgery. They were able to get quite a biot of the cancer out of the brain area..BUT as was known prior to the surgery..the cancer that is entwined in the brain stem would / was not touched at all due to resulting complications of doing such.
Cassie is in the ICU and on various machines atm. There will be some set backs for her as a result of having had the surgery also. She is expected to come home from the hospital in about two weeks time. Her sister is back at home, she left the hospital this am and I have talked with her just now. Looks as though the surgery has accomplished what was expected also. Cassie is doing well.
I haven't talked with Tracey..yet. She is staying near the hospital for another few days time to my understanding though..once she knows that Cassie is out of the woods from the surgery basically...AND then she will go home and come back etc.
Gonna see if I can contact Tracey at the hospital or hotel place she is at now..LATERS...

Went to see Tracey & Cassie today up at the hospital. Cassie was mostly out of it awake here and there and a little testy with all those hoses and tubes. She is a very determined and beautiful young girl [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] Tracey & John are holding up as best as they can. I am going back up there tonight to visit with them. I feel so helpless and wish i could do more for them but all I can do is pray. They are very sweet loving people. Well, don't know what else to say if I here more I will post after I get home. Tracey will be going home tomorrow for a few hours and says she will post then.
