we are building a rack!!

we got sick of the screen-top tanks, so we decided to try building a melamine rack, its our first rack ever we are almost done, we are just waiting for the heat tape to come in and i gotta line the edges with the edge-tape stuff, and we will be done it holds 4 28qt sterilite tubs, this should hold our smaller snakes for a good while

the only thing i dont like about it is that its white (they didnt have black sheets in the size we needed and it doesnt match our other big cages) and its heavy, too heavy for me to move by myself. that, and when you cut the sheets, a little bit of the laminate stuff chips off no matter what kinda tool you use

but i think overall, for being our first rack, it came out pretty decent we were gonna use the smaller 6qt tubs like everyone uses for their baby racks, but our snakes wont last very long at all in those, so we went for the bigger tubs we can make any adjustments as we see fit too

here are some pics of the process....(and remember its not completely finished yet so be nice lol)

and oops, we only bought 3 bins LOL

more pics to come when we are done and the little snakies go in their new bins
