Boa shot in West Michigan

Nearly 7-foot long snake shot by state trooper - Grand Rapids News - The Grand Rapids Press Online - Michigan Newspaper - MLive.com

Can we avoid a big debate by just agreeing that this could be avoided by responsible pet ownership?

My gramma saw it on the News last night and just called me to tell me about it, so I had to look it up online and share.

Some people just...

Re: Boa shot in West Michigan

Ugh the comments on that sight annoy me a great deal. But that is okay hopefully people will start becoming more responsible. But this is the human race and well for every responsible pet owner there are 2 that aren't it seems.

Overall thank you for posting.

Re: Boa shot in West Michigan

It just surprises that there are still people out there that don't even know what a redtail boa is. And that there are still people out there that scared of them.

Re: Boa shot in West Michigan

I love how it was always "released because a keeper did not want it". Nobody ever considers it may have escaped like many feral cats and dogs. I guess every feral animal was set loose from an irresponsible keeper.

I know it's not all irresponsible ownership. I just like to assume it is, because then I can take a stronger stand against it.

Especially in this instance, could you imagine losing your cuddly little boa, wondering where it is, and then seeing that on the news? So it's less sad to assume he was unwanted rather than someone's beloved, misplaced pet.
