And you probably would have ended up in handcuffs.
I feel so bad for the owners of the pup....

Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
Unbelievable. I sure hope that cop doesn't have any pets.

Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
If it was such an emergency, especially one that required driving 100mph, the owners should have called 911. The cop did the right thing. It is unfortunate that it took 15 minutes for the traffic stop, but no one mentions if it took that long because of dispatch or anything else. You don't know what the dispatchers were doing. You can't have already stressed, frantic people driving 100mph on the interstate. Their dog choking to death is a terrible unfortunate thing, but that gives them no right to endanger my life. If this guy drove 100mph down your street with your children in the front yard, or your dog for that matter, you people shouting "bad cop" would be having a fit at the driver. I love my animals, I really do, but people need to start understanding that animals < people.

Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
Okay, the cop did not handle the situation well....
HOWEVER, put yourself in the place the officer and you see a car going 100 miles an hour down the road. You pull it over (finally) and the guy jumps out in the way he did. Had he remained a little calmer and explained to the officer a little better, I am sure the officer wouldn't have been on edge and prehaps more apt to try to help the guy out.
Plus, why would people be outraged over this? It is already evident that people value life very differently whether it is an animal or an unborn baby or other individuals. People place different values on different things. Sure this guy placed a very high value on his beloved pet, but the officer is looking more at the family of 5 in the station wagon that this guy could have easily taken out driving at that speed.

Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
"Its a dog, you can get another one" is what did it for me.
