Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
Well I'm not perfect. For me I guess it's easy to interact with a cop because I work with them, some people see a uniform and freak out. I'm also used to dealing with medical and traumatic emergencies, I do that for a living so I would approach it as if it were my patient (I did with my Akita). Both the driver and the cop could have done things to make the situation easier. They were both at fault.

Re: Dog dies after speeding owner ticketed
i think this is a perfect example of sometimes there is no right or wrong answer...like ursa said...the owner could have done things to prevent this...but at the same time the cop could have also...so its kinda a stale mate (i dunno if i spelled that right :P)
sometimes its both sides that are right and both sides that are wrong...

Had he remained a little calmer and explained to the officer a little better, I am sure the officer wouldn't have been on edge and prehaps more apt to try to help the guy out.
Plus, why would people be outraged over this? It is already evident that people value life very differently whether it is an animal or an unborn baby or other individuals. People place different values on different things. Sure this guy placed a very high value on his beloved pet, but the officer is looking more at the family of 5 in the station wagon that this guy could have easily taken out driving at that speed.
