OMG this sucks!!

something happened to the a/c it freakin got up to 97F in our house!! im worried about the fish, it almost got up to 91 in the tanks!! i swear if this stupid broken a/c kills my fish im gonna go nuts on the landlord!!

thanks, we are gonna raise some heck in the office tomorrow. my fish are expensive, at least the snakes like the warmth....

part of the reason its already hot in here is cause we dont have any neighbors downstairs, so i guess the heat just rises up to us, but still, it was in the low-mid 80's when i left for work today, there is NO reason for it to be this hot :cuss:

Good luck with that.. that sucks.

I had a timer fail on my window A/C one summer when I was away for much of the day... got up to 94 in my herp building. :censored: but luckily everybody was okay. I quickly opened up all the cages, cranked the ceiling fan and got the A/C crankin'... I had a cheap plastic timer that I was using for it and a plastic part inside broke, so it never turned on the A/C when it was supposed to. The timer normally turns off the A/C at night when its cool outside so the fan of it isn't running all night burning up electricity... scared the crap out of me though.

do regular apartment a/c's have timers? i wonder if we have one and it broke...

ugh...i wanna go stay at a hotel tonite, this is awful

ugh, one of our snake cages is freakin 98 ambient temp!! im gonna have to put him in a screen top tank or something

No, A/Cs don't have timers. This was one that I bought for like $5 bucks, plugged into the outlet, and then plugged the A/C into the timer.

I really hate to disagree with you on this one, But My A/C does have a timer on it, I can set it to go on for up to 24 hours, or it can shut down after 24 hours, Mine even came with a remote controll.

you dont need a timer for an ac if you have one with a thermostat.

I could not sleep through that, with the temps being so high. I for one would be in a hotel and the LL would be paying for it!

i told the LL that ill be staying in a hotel and THEY are paying for it if they dont fix it today....they assured me it WILL be fixed today, so lets see....

i had to move some of the poor snakies into some old screen chameleon cages cause it was so hot in there

at least my snakes are small enough to still fit in there

did you turn off all the snakes heating elements
i dont turn on ac in my snake room unless it gets over 90 in there or unless ill be in there for a while

oh yea all the heaters have been off since before it got super hot in here. it really did get 98 degrees inside that snake cage without any heater

its still a good 95 in here, and it hasnt reached the hottest part of the day yet

I meant to say most don't have timers.. my bad. Anywho... mine does have a thermostat which shuts the coolant on/off, but the fan still runs... so I like to just have the whole thing turn off at night if I don't need it.

ugh....turns out we have the smallest crappiest a/c in the building...greeaaattt....just our luck

the fan was broken....and i think the guy fixed it, but its still coming out hot, so something else must be wrong

Ugh I am going through one of these things... If you have someone that you know that is a lawyer have them call and say that you are going to start a lawsuit... They are required to fix your a/c within a 24 hour period if they don't you have the right to get reimbursement.

You are fine no worries, I also have a thermostat in mine and it is set for 72 degrees, cools the room for another 5 degrees cooler then shuts off the compressor, then when it hits 72 degrees again it fires back up.
