Net Neutrality
What information can you find on the internet? What do you think about the fiercely debated concept of Net Neutrality?

Re: Net Neutrality
Don't know much about the different sides of net neutrality, but would like to see the elimination of spam and child porn before drastic changes are made to the Internet infrastructure.

A neutral broadband network is one that is free of restrictions on the kinds of equipment that may be attached, on the modes of communication allowed, which does not restrict content, sites or platforms, and where communication is not unreasonably degraded by other communication streams.

I'm for it. Your ISP shouldn't be able to block you from whatever they want. Who are the people that are against it?
Kiddie porn isn't the issue. I'm pretty sure they don't have outspoken advocates... as long as you rule out NAMBLA.

Re: Net Neutrality
I actually did a big speech on this for a school project a couple years back. It's a really important and potentially disturbing issue, I'm kind of surprised you don't hear more about it.
Edit: And of course I'm all for it. There's really just no possible upside to NOT having it. The only people who could benefit at all are the big ISP companies, big whoop.

Re: Net Neutrality
I think it's a good thing. They already track everything we look at online, we don't need them deciding what we can and can't look at.
They do that at my school. Why in the world does a college need to block pages? We're all adults, except the odd 17 year old who graduated high school early. It makes me really mad to be treated like child by a place I pay so much to attend. Almost $1000 a credit and I don't even get the whole internet?? Lame.
Off topic- Welcome [L]! Anyone who's a fan and the Coens, Joss Whedon, AND Neil Gaiman is way cool in my book!
