Joys of feeding live.

Rachel and I have started to feed live, though it is hard to watch it is better than just crushing the prey and possibly losing all the water content and much of the nutrition. Hopefully this will alleviate Rachel and I killing animals because of her allergies, and simply wasting them. Here are some pictures of the live feedings

Unfortunately before we received the plants, spiders and insects that could not be easily caught and let outside got crushed. My fiance is very allergic to insect bites, so she would kill them on sight. Now she feeds them to the plants. We are not big on meaningless killing, so at least now we get to take care of the allergy problem by feeding them to something. We try not to waste anything in this household.

Gotchya. I thought you were crushing them to give them to the plant. Which is better than crushing them just to kill.

So, great idea! I wish more people would do that rather than senselessly killing insects when they see them.

Re: Joys of feeding live.

When I first saw who it was that had posted this, there was a brief moment where I questioned whether or not you'd completely fallen off your nut.

Seeing as it was a thread for carnivorous plants though... I love those things. They're so much fun. I had a huge venus fly trap growing up... I used to feed it orb weaver spiders that I'd catch in a nearby cow pasture.

Re: Joys of feeding live.

Very cool, thanks for the link.

And - everyone is on their nut. Until they fall off and everyone around you starts giving you horse eyes. You know, that "o_O" look with one eyebrow raised....

Yeah, like the one you're all giving me now. lol

Some people say "rocker" I say "nut"... And there's a story behind it, too! For another thread.

But no - good to see you haven't completely gone off the deep end Raze. I'd miss you too much and have to follow after. :P

I was just about to post the live pile thread on here,
How ever since it is about plants go ahead and feed live.
And make sure you play music for them, cause it has been proven some place that plants will thrive bettern when music is played.
